On the other hand, Bennett's model has also inspired me to learn more about cultures other than my own, as well as how to be more culturally sensitive. This helps me in terms of mediating between teachers, students, and parents, many of whom are still burdened by prejudice, even if this is benign and not necessarily known to the individuals involved. I have learned to handle this in a subtle rather than overt way, by guiding them towards a better understanding when interacting with each other.

Finally, Nieto's article provided me with some startling facts; although I am aware of the segregation issue in schools, and that it is far from over, I was not aware of the countrywide extent of this, and indeed that there was a backward movement towards segregation during the 1990s. Whereas the other two articles were considerably positive in terms of addressing segregation in a positively practical way, Nieto appears fairly vague and negative in her view of the situation. She for example suggests that we need to ask difficult questions when it comes to education and inequality,...

Nonetheless, I also believe that the article is a much-needed indictment of today's education system.
In conclusion, I believe all educators should be concerned with promoting a sense of fairness and learning in their classrooms, regardless of how many and which cultures are represented. Teachers should primarily care about their students rather than their cultures.
